Thank you

Your install is done. Here's what comes next.

In the next day or two, SBPM (Starlink) will email you a short survey about today's installation. This page explains what to expect, answers common questions, and gives you a direct line to us if anything isn't right.

01 / The Survey

About your installation.

Questions about the physical work we did today: the dish, the mount, the cable run, and what to expect from here.
What did the technician actually do today?
Your installer mounted the Starlink dish in a location with the clearest view of the sky possible at your property, secured the cable run from the dish to your router, and confirmed the system was online before leaving. They also walked you through the basics of the Starlink app where applicable.
Why was my dish installed in that specific location?
Starlink needs a clear line of sight to the sky to connect with satellites overhead. Trees, roof peaks, chimneys, and other structures can block the signal. Your installer used the Starlink app to find the best spot at your property that balances signal quality with a clean, secure mount.
Should I expect any holes or marks left behind?
A standard installation may include sealed holes for the cable entry and mounting hardware. All penetrations should be properly sealed and weatherproofed. If you notice anything that looks unfinished, please let us know using the form at the bottom of this page.
How is the cable routed through my home?
Your technician runs the Starlink cable from the dish to the router using the most direct, clean route possible. This typically involves a small entry point through an exterior wall, soffit, or existing penetration. The cable is secured along its run so it does not sag or get caught.
What about snow, ice, or heavy weather?
Starlink dishes have a built-in snow melt feature you can enable in the Starlink app. Heavy rain or snow can briefly affect your signal (known as rain fade), and this is normal for satellite internet. The mount is designed to handle Canadian weather.
Can I move the dish later if I want to?
Yes, but it should be done by a qualified installer to keep your mount secure and weather-sealed. Moving the dish yourself risks damaging the cable, voiding your mount warranty, or creating new obstructions. Contact us if you would like to discuss a relocation.
What if I notice an issue with the install in a few days?
Reach out through the form at the bottom of this page or call us directly. We would much rather hear about it and come back to fix it than have you live with something that is not right.
03 / Starlink

Using your Starlink.

Quick answers for the most common Starlink service questions.

For billing, account, or service issues, contact Starlink directly at starlink.com/support. We can't access your account or change your plan.

My Starlink shows Offline or Disconnected. What now?
Try a power cycle first: unplug the router from the wall, wait 60 seconds, plug it back in. Your Starlink can take up to 15 minutes to fully boot. If it is still offline, open the Starlink app and tap Obstructions to check if anything is blocking the sky view.
My internet feels slow. Is that normal?
Speeds can vary based on your plan, the time of day, and how many devices are using your network. Open the Starlink app and run a speed test from the main screen. If speeds are consistently low and you are not seeing obstructions, contact Starlink support directly through the app.
How do I change my WiFi network name and password?
Open the Starlink app, tap Settings, then select your network under the Networks section. From there you can change the network name (SSID) and password. After saving, your devices will need to reconnect using the new name and password.
How do I check for obstructions?
Open the Starlink app and tap the Obstructions section from the main menu. The app will show any objects blocking your dish's view of the sky and tell you how much they are affecting your service.
How do I set up parental controls or guest WiFi?
Both options are available inside the Starlink app under Settings. The app is your primary tool for managing everything about your Starlink service after the install is complete.
I have a billing or account question.
Billing, account changes, plan upgrades, and service-level issues are handled directly by Starlink, not by your installer. Visit starlink.com/support or open the Starlink app to manage your account.
Where do I go for help with anything else Starlink-related?
The Starlink app is the fastest path to support for anything service-related. You can submit a support ticket through the app and Starlink will respond directly. For everything related to your physical installation, reach out to us.
